I was a fellow features editor of Carol's at the Wall Street Journal's Washington bureau. Carol was such a joy to work with not only because you was such a talented journalist but because she was such a joyful person. No office birthday slipped by with Carol hauling out a cake. To paraphrase her favorite singer Randy Travis, Carol will be remembered as a journalist and as a friend, "forever, and ever. Amen!" --Ron Shafer, Leesburg, Va.
